Marily Syrmalis

Marily has recently completed her Honours journey in the Burnslab, characterising gene expression of novel Asgard archaea enriched in culture. Marily employed for the first time metatranscriptomics to determine key aspects of growth, metabolism, and markers of eukaryotic-like function. Marily rejoined the lab in 2025 to emabark on her postgrad journey.
